Emphasis

This work is called Penitent Magdalen by artist Georges de la Town.  This work uses emphasis by having more than just one focal point.  The arrows used show the different focal points. I am automatically drawn to the woman in the picture because of scale.  She is the largest object in the picture. My second focal point is the light, because of the contrast.  The light is the bright and makes everything else look dull.  My third focal point is the woman's lap.  I saw the color of her dress and the skull because of grouping.
